Services Provided

Defrag Hard Drive

When saving data, computers generally save to the first available space.  Over time, this can cause your hard drive to become fragmented, making it  perform slower.  Defrags are unnecessary on solid state drives.

Remove Duplicate Files

Duplicate files take up valuable space and usually need to be removed.  Helping your computer run faster.

Perform Disk Cleanup

The hard drive will be scanned, for files that are no longer of any use, and then they will be removed. These can include searching the Recycle Bin, Download folder, Temporary Internet File, Setup Log Files and many others.

Perform Software Update

Just like Windows Update, software programs need updating, as well.

Scan For Malware

Numerous scans are performed to clean up the hard drive.  If viruses are found, the program will either delete the virus or quarantine it. Every machine is different, but this alone can take up most of the day, to perform all the various scans.

Clear Browser History

Every now and again, you put in a browser address, only to get a blank page.  This can often be caused by too many cookies in your browser history.  In which case, the history needs to be cleaned out.

Configure Startup

Often when installing a new software program, it is automatically added to the "Startup".  Unnecessary programs in the Startup menu drain valuable resources and take longer for the computer to access the desktop, after a reboot.  Removing any unnecessary programs from the Startup saves time and resources.

Create Restore Point

We never know when a computer catastrophe is going to happen.  But one way to lessen the impact of the problem is to do software backups of all essential documents.  Even if your motherboard crashes/fries. if you have a backup, at least your important documents are saved.  You can provide your own backup media or a 16 GB thumb drive will be available, for an additional charge.

Declutter Desktop

Where is the quickest, easiest place to save a document?  Most would say the desktop; however, for the majority of people, the desktop has become a cluttered dumping ground for all sorts of documents, even the obsolete.  This sometimes makes it difficult to find documents, once placed there. PCM can restore the desktop.

Reset Browser

If you browser is acting quirky, sometimes the solution is to reset it back to factory defaults.

Create Recovery Disk

Recovery disks are something you think you will never need...until your system crashes.  It restores the computer back to how it was when originally purchased.  You can provide your own blank media  or  one can be purchased, at cost.

Remove Unused Software

Many times, computers get filled with software programs that are not used.  If you don't use it, you need to remove it.  More space equals more speed.

Adjust Performance Settings

Many times the settings on your computer hog system resources, slowing the machine down.  By making a few adjustments, more resources can be made available, speeding up the computer, in the process.

Perform Windows Update

Windows Update is used to provide service packs and patches, to keep the operating system secure and protected from malware and malicious attacks.  It can also be used to update drivers for popular hardware devices.   

Updates are usually set to download automatically, however, sometimes problem arise, that prevent this from happening.
